Why it’s worth it
Bang for buck? Camp offers that in abundance.
A summer in the United States. A real job with real pay. The kind of experience that changes how you see yourself and what you’re capable of. Friendships that last well beyond the summer. A story you’ll still be telling years from now. Put it next to the cost of a festival, a holiday, or another summer doing not very much, and camp starts to look like pretty good value.
“I went to camp expecting to just have a fun summer. I came back with a completely different idea of who I was, what I wanted, and the experience to get there.”
Lucy, General Counsellor, Michigan
“I was about to graduate and I had no idea what I wanted to do. Everyone said I needed ‘more experience’. Camp was a summer where I actually got some – and it turns out leading a group of teenagers is pretty good CV material.”
Liam, Music and Theatre Activity Specialist, New Hampshire
“I was pretty shy when I applied. I’m not going to pretend camp magically fixed that, but living and working with people from all over the world for ten weeks changed something. I came back feeling like I could handle things.”
Erin, Arts Activity Specialist, Pennsylvania
